Diversity: Strength & Beauty
May 6, 2019Not Over Yet
$325.00
Not Over Yet was painted using only crimson and black during an episode of PMDD rage, at a time when I was also struggling with suicidal ideation. Painting became the place I put what I was feeling.
By the time the rage had passed and the painting was complete, I added the white semicolon, a symbol widely used in suicide prevention and awareness. Popularized by Project Semicolon, it represents choosing to continue when a life could have ended. For me, it marked surviving that night and the reminder that my story was not over yet.
$250 from the sale of this painting will be donated to the International Association for Premenstrual Disorders (IAPMD) to support others affected by PMDD and PME.
